Heats up fast and has a long 2.4 m (8 ft) cord, useful when doing horizontal steaming, and not having to be close to an outlet is convenient. Steamers with cords 183 cm (6 ft) or less are a hard pass. The 120 mL (4 us fl oz) water tank is good for 3-4 shirts, detaches for easy fill up. Steamer uses an on/off switch for steam. Steamers that require you to continuously hold the steam button down is a hard pass. In use it is a pain, a simple on/off switch is far easier to work with.Comes with a storage bag and a foldable travel hanger. Not sure if I will ever use the hanger, all the places I have stayed at had hangers provided. The design flaw of this steamer is that the body is a little wide. You tend to hold it by the neck because it is the thinnest part and it gets warm there as your hand is closer to the steam spout. It would be an ideal steamer if it was easier to grip. Instead of making this compact (shorter) at the cost of a wide body, it could be made thinner with a longer body. I think it would be better to sacrifice size for ergonomics. What I looked for* long cord, 2.4 m (8 ft)* on/off switch for continuous steaming* “compact”, purely subjective here* 120 mL (4 us fl oz) water tank or largerI returned this, found one with a pistol grip, 2.4 m (8 ft) cord, 200 mL (6.7 us fl oz) tank, has an on/off switch and is foldable.I would not consider either one to be carry-on friendly, they both take up a good bit of space. They will fit in carry-on but is more suited for check-in luggage. This is still a good steamer and a recommended buy. It ticked all the boxes. I just wished the body was thinner for an easier grip.Un producto de muy buen agrado, nos fue muy útil y productivo en nuestras vacaciones.GRACIAS.I'm a newbie to steamers—I'd been meaning to get one for a long time, but this is my first one. My main purpose is to smooth folded photography backdrops for photo shoots, and secondarily to de-wrinkle my clothes.I struggled with the steamer at first, because its steam was taking a long time to do anything with my 10'x10' polyester backdrop as it hung loosely from the stand. I found that if I (1) held it against the fabric while constantly moving it and (2) held the fabric taut, it worked much better.I'd estimate I was able to smooth about a quarter of my 10'x10' backdrop with the small amount of water in the steamer. So if you have to smooth a lot of fabric/clothes in one sitting, expect to refill the water multiple times. But when turned on, it does heat up quickly and start emitting steam. There's no separate button for starting or stopping the steam. The heating element is just on or off with the one button. They say it works horizontally, but I haven't tried that.I'm not taking off a star for the need to refill (to cover more than one or two shirts), because this is meant as a travel steamer. The deduction is for the size and weight of this thing that's meant to travel. It's better than trying to drag a floor-based steamer along with you, but I'd definitely hesitate packing this travel steamer in my bag. To be fair, maybe all travel steamers are long and heavy due to engineering constraints, and I'm just not familiar with them. This steamer might be great for you if you want to use a steamer at home for one or two garments at a time and you don't want the steamer to take up a lot of space. As shown in my pictures, I tested the steamer on a white photography backdrop. I shined a harsh (undiffused) light on it from the side to emphasize the wrinkles. The lighting setup is the same and the position is about the same in the before and after. I'm very happy I have this now, even if it'll take refills to cover a whole backdrop. They also included a travel hanger and a bag for the steamer. The steamer warms up very quickly. It takes only about 30 seconds to start producing steam.I don't know that I trust the steam coming out initially. During my first experiment with it, I noticed that the initial steam had droplets in it. Subsequent experiments didn't have droplets. But I may have waited a few extra seconds after I saw steam before applying it to my clothes.I don't know if the instructions indicate that you need to make contact with the garment you're steaming. But I found that steam alone wasn't enough to take out most wrinkles. I had to touch the steamer head to the garment. It doesn't even have to be a firm touch. Just a light touch is all I found necessary.I used the steamer on a shirt that had lots of wrinkles and had been folded and sat in a drawer for several days. The creases from folder appeared to be nearly permanent. The wrinkles also looked to be tough. BUT... the steamer took out all the wrinkles and creases. The shirt looked like it had been freshly pressed. The one issue I have for using it for traveling... you need to use distilled water. I don't want to have to go out and buy distilled water at my destination. So, you either have to pack a small amount of distilled water, or you have to use what ever water is available and live with the fact that your steamer is going to get scale and eventually fail.I'm sort of torn between two views. On one hand this is much quicker and does almost as good a job as an iron. On the other hand, I've used and trusted an iron forever. Having said that... most irons take a while to warm up adequately, and I almost always have droplets left by water that isn't converted to steam. I can press a dress shirt in my sleep using an iron... I would convert to using this steamer only after I've gotten a bit more experience with it. But... I think I'm well on my way. This is very easy to pack and use while traveling. It's small but does a great job, gets wrinkles out quite well.
